DESYNCED ROOMS

This audio-spatial arrangement decouples one another's observation of movement via an ongoing two-way sound projection stream of structure-born noise. Sound of footsteps emitted by participants in one room can be heard in the respective other room with a temporal offset of three seconds (and vice versa), transcending present moment consciousness of both. Trajectories of bodies immediately disintegrate into present (sight) and past (sound) perceptual events, with acoustic shadows being seemingly ghostly attached. Since each participant is observing agent and observed object of both, the respective other and his/her own perceptual phenomena, the setting reveals a phenomenologically rich scenario.
